PLANNING
Planning is the foundation of a successful emergency management program and is key to any organization’s resilience. Emergency plans are not one-size-fits-all because each organization is unique and at different levels of maturity in regard to emergency preparedness.
Our planning process is designed to capture your organization’s extensive institutional knowledge and align your existing efforts with industry best practices and the All-Hazards Approach. This includes identifying key response capabilities (e.g., emergency notification and activation, strategic and operational coordination, distribution of public information, resource management and logistics, information collection, analysis, and dissemination) and establishing capability targets to build your organization’s maturity over time.
The All-Hazards Approach is based on the premise that while causes and types of emergencies can vary widely and be hard to predict, the necessary response capabilities are relatively similar from one incident to the next. This approach allows an organization to focus on general capability-building during preparedness activities while applying a consistent, scalable, and flexible incident management approach, regardless of incident type, scope, or complexity. Leveraging the All-Hazards Approach, RDY Together helps clients standardize their approach to incident management by providing a consistent, scalable response process and organization that can be used for any emergency.

TRAININGS & EXERCISES
It’s one thing to create solid plans, it’s another to know that your team will understand and execute them as needed. While trainings and exercises can sometimes be uncomfortable, challenging, and hard to fit in people’s schedules, they provide your team leaders with the hands-on knowledge they need to confidently and successfully manage the response to an incident.
Building the response muscles of your team opens the door to meaningful learning. Utilizing the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), we work with you to design modern trainings and exercises that test specific functions and/or capabilities of the various teams within your business. Documenting the results of this work enables us and you to identify any capability gaps and update your plans as needed.

ASSESSMENTS
The RDY Together team improves your preparedness via two different types of assessments, depending on your needs.
Program Assessments
With this type of assessment, our team provides an objective evaluation of your preparedness program against leading standards using qualitative and quantitative measures. We provide you with actionable recommendations to improve and enhance your program, as well as a suggested roadmap for implementing the measures based upon the complexity, value, and priority of the recommended activities and initiatives.
Post-Incident Assessments
Things will not always go as planned. It is continued review that allows companies to improve when things do go wrong. With a post-incident assessment, we perform a comprehensive assessment of your organization’s response to an incident to provide broad insight about what went wrong, why it happened, and what needs to change to ensure lessons learned don’t become lessons repeated.
Our approach encompasses a comprehensive look across the organization by gathering information from multiple sources to assess people, processes, and technology. We identify both successes to build upon and opportunities for improvement.
When conducting a post-incident assessment, we:
Perform interviews across a wide range (functionally and hierarchically) of individuals who have a role in emergency response.
Conduct a document review, including current procedures, policies, and training. We also review after-action reports from prior exercises and actual incidents.
Assess technology solutions utilized to support incident response. We assess how well they are supporting user needs during incident response and identify any gaps.
Benchmark performance against emergency management and business continuity standards, as well as against peers in your industry.
After conducting our research, we perform a thorough analysis of all findings to identify trends, best practices, and opportunities. We then provide you with a final report that documents our findings and recommendations. As with our program assessments, we also provide a suggested roadmap for implementing the measures based on the complexity, value, and priority of the recommended activities and initiatives.
